Flaming Star and Tadpoles again.  The star cluster just below the tail of the Flaming Star is M 38.  Level with M 38 and half way to Tadpoles is IC 417.  Middle near the bottom is M 36.

Just back from a weeks holiday at a North Norfolk dark sky site, Uncle 🧙‍♂️and Aunty 🧚‍♀️ were very kind.

Friday 17th Jan through to Tuesday 21st brilliant clear night skies 👍, but very cold.

Clear blue skies during the day.

Wednesday to Friday cloudio 👎

During the days we either went to Holkham National Nature Reserve or Brancaster beach with our Lurchers. 👍

No internet 👍

I hope you all had a good week.

Sorry for to much detail.

Fantastic capture as always Gina, been following the development of this one over the last couple of weeks, wish I had half of the equivalent skills:icon_salut:.

I may need to take more darks as the earlier ones before I covered the filter wheel were suspect.  No problem - I'm all set up for taking darks.

I think that's it so buying the Second Edition was worth it!  Screenshot of PI with stretched image.

I prefer this one, the faint stuff is over-processed in the second one.

These are getting seriously good, Gina! You are getting so much faint detail.

I've just done my first narrowband HSO image. I found Sii needed a huge amount of stretch compared to Oiii, let alone Ha.

Just doing a straight combine left the Oiii either anaemic or magenta, so I went with the magenta one, but used selective colour to 'blue it up' so it stands out.

Now taking darks for Simeis 147 g300 300s bin3x3.  There are also some lights of 450s so I'll take matching darks for that next.  That should give my rig something to do for a day or two!! 🤣

I have 45 g300 300s bin3x3 Simeis 147 Ha subs and 21 g300 459s bin3x3.  So 100 x 300s and 50 x 450s darks will suffice.

Lovely result.  This one is my favourite.

It's very nice to see the final result after watching it take shape.

Now on the final straight - stacking or ImageIntegration as PI calls it.  Final result coming up shortly.

Final stack of Simeis147 auto-stretched.  Now I'll personalise the stretch with Levels and Curves (HistogramTransformation and CurvesTransformation).

Final result (I think) Simeis 147 in Ha slightly cropped and custom stretched.  45x3m + 21x7.5m = 292.5m which is just under 5 hours.  Binned 3x3,

That looks very promising Gina, I look forward to your future iterations. It's a target that I'd love to image, but then I discovered how huge it is, so that's not going to happen with either of my scopes.....

..... I didn't have to wait long - very nice :thumbright:
