Suffering from a bit of quantisation in GIMP but here it is anyway.  Heart and Soul in OIII stretched, cropped and scaled.

Now I need to find out how to combine the Ha and OIII to make a coloured image.

First attempts - far from brilliant!

It needs SII so that I can make a 3 colour image.  Making an RGB image from just two wavelengths doesn't work very well, though it can be a bit better than I have achieved so far.

I could probably get more difference between Ha and OIII showing if I used masks to separate the stars from the nebulosity.  There's a whole section in the book on using masks.  No doubt using masks in PI is a bit different from Photoshop!  I don't remember masks in PI when I was using it two or three years ago but then there was a lot I never tried.  I've used 3 wavelengths with PI for coloured images in the past and even PixelMath to alter the combination.

Looks really nice Gina, but is it just me or does it look better turned 180° so the Heart is (imo) up the right way 😁

This is fabulous.  I was trying to do similar when I did my Flaming star and tadpoles recently, but my FOV was smaller than yours even with a two pane mosaic,

Heart and soul don't look too bad either.  I actually like this one the best:

Cloudy and drizzling here tonight just when it is almost New Moon.  Pay back time for last weekend I guess.

The fog has lifted but still misty and murky.  Cold seems a bit better today.

For maximum versatility in mounting telescopes and widefield rigs on my EQ8 I have ordered the "Dual saddles" version of the ADM Losmandy-style Dual Mounting Bar and will be returning the Vixen version for a refund.

I'm re-doing the Flaming Star and Tadpoles OIII calibration, alignment and stacking.  I was using the calibration settings for CCD rather than CMOS and that caused calibration to fail.

Makes a difference if you get the settings right!!  Good calibration this time.  FS&T OIII 61 subs stretched in PI.

Combining colours HOO to RGB and applying HistogramTransformation (Levels) in PI gives this.
