Large grab and go :)

Recommended Posts

Just a lighthearted post- here is a picture of my new "grab and go"! lol!

I really want to try Hickson 55 and a faint galaxy cluster around UMA but the view is obstructed near my garage. The top of this ridge is about 60 feet higher, has a great view and is where my obsy will be- a long work in progress this one. Forest fire haze made observing impossible so down we went later on.

I just couldn't wheel the 24" up 2 hills...

Brilliant Gerry - can we come over? 😀

Actually yes!

Right now there is room for about 10 big truss dobs on this property, maybe more. I dug out 30ish big boulders from the property and used them as a berm up top and will put a "seacan" up there to store scopes etc with a cabin eventually built for guests.

Looks a bit like a Saturn V rolling out to the launchpad! Funny 🤣🤣

Saturn V -I like that one Stu! lol!

Maybe the new name for the scope?

I think I would check the collimation before you have a look through it.!  🤣

Yes for sure!

In reality the Astrosystems scope is not ever far off, loading the scope on the ramp, transporting at 1 mph and unloading has minimal effect of the dob. I push the 15" up here and its never far off either, a testament to the build quality of Randy's scopes.

Travelling in style. Would be good to see some pictures when in placement along the ridge line Gerry. The John Deere looks like it could cope with quite a bit of varied terrain. Good luck with those exciting targets.

Nah, go for it. You can name the 40" after the SLS, whatever they end up calling that 👍👍
