Can you see DSOs in colour just with your eyes?

Yep, me too. Even in small scopes it is visible. I actually find LP helps with this as your cones are stimulated enough to detect the colour.

then I'm sure I've seen some color in a 8inch dobsonian in a bortle 5 sky.

this is getting me interested in how the eye functions now . Time for some reading 😊
