Overpriced Tele Vue 13mm Ethos Eyepiece sold on eBay

Noticed that a used Tele Vue 13mm Ethos Eyepiece sold for £360.00 (with postage) on eBay tonight when TelescopeHouse had them new at £342.00 delivered this weekend. eBay isn't allways the cheapest.

People behave in strange ways on E.Bay sometimes - I've been watching that Ethos as well (just curious, not bidding) and I wondered if it would go for something around the new purchase price (I wonder if the buyer knows about the Telescope House 10% off deal ?).

What goes though peoples minds in the run up towards the end of an e.bay auction would make an interesting study for a psychologist I reckon !.

I've got a Parks GS 7.5mm eyepiece on there at the moment - I bet that won't get anywhere near it's £80 new price

I was winning that Ethos, all be it at £220 and 4 days to go. Can't believe someone ended paying more than new. The seller must be killing himself laughing.

Yes you have to double check the price of anything on eBay to see if you could buy it cheaper elsewhere. I bought a new home cinema speaker system yesterday and the cheapest eBay price for the one I wanted was about 5% more than buying it from a regular on-line shop.

I've seen items bought for more than the "Buy it now" price when the BIN price disappeared after the reserve limit was met.

Auction fever = !!???

The seller may well have paid £500 for it when they first became available.
