My first Moon image in 40years at the eyepiece.

Ok, it will probably make seasoned imagers squirm, but I was only playing around. The sky was milky with light cloud and I'd wiped my Apple iPhone camera lens on my sleeve to make sure I got a reasonable result. Then hand holding the phone to the eyepiece of my 100mm F7.4 refractor, I clicked this view.

It shows how rubbish I am as I can't even remember the time and date! It was last week sometime, so is that scientific enough?

Mmm, 'Mike.Hezzlewood the imager',   it does have a certain ring about it.  I never thought I'd ever see the day!

Could I have your crayons and drawing pads if you have no use for them any more please? 😁.

Seriously my friend, I do hope you will still find the time to post more of your fabulous drawings, when you have finished your imaging sessions of course!  🤣

Well done Mike, looks pretty much like my view with 6" frac and 6mm Ethos a couple of nights ago.

Stu has a thread on phone images lurking somewhere.

Thanks to everyone for their encouragement. I may invest in one of those phone holder thingy's just for the fun of it! :icon_biggrin:

Thanks for reminding me about Stu's phone image thread Dave, I might try and find it. You never know, I might win a coconut!

Great image Mike! Better than I managed with my Mewlon on the same night!

There is an entire Smartphone imaging sub section now if you look in the Inaging section.

Have fun!

Mike, I hope you don't think it's a bit of a liberty, but as I know you I just tinkered for a minute with your image, and come up with the one below, I have put your original alongside for comparison.

Re a phone holder, you are welcome to try out my Celestron NexYZ some time.

Great tinkering Paul. Feel free to continue taking liberties! :icon_biggrin:

I'm going to have to get the grit out, coz this could quickly become a slippery slope!!

Mike, I have just read your original post and seeing that you are considering buying some imaging kit, I was about to reply along the lines of being on the slippery slope, but you beat me to it!

Great image by the way.
