COMPLETED - Wanted EQ5 Tripod

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks

I have acquired a nice EQ5 driven mount. However, having lived on a pier, it had no tripod & base plate. I did intend to build a base and tripod, but I would like to use it this decade.....

Drop me a line if you have anything suitable. I’m based near Reading but do travel around a fair bit.

Might be worth keeping an eye on astroboot, too.

Is the eq5 any thing like the heq5 mount size.?

Just like it. I believe that the Heq5 is the same as the eq5, but with good motors and cleaver electronics.

if it was going on a pier I made a plate for a heq5 from a steel plate and a counter weight on the lathe 3kg ,so can I add this to a wood tripod ? I check this out on saturday.

I am about to take delivery, within a week to 10 days, of a brand new EQ35M and a Berlebach Uni tripod, so the OEM tripod (and baseplate, obviously) will be surplus. New, they seem to be £105, so if you can wait, and be prepared to pay day £75, it’s yours.

Magnus

I’m in Sunbury-On-Thames so not far from you.

Thanks for the offers guys. Two very different options! I’m weighing up the ease of Magnus’ plug n play option against Starlight’s more bespoke offering.

Magnus - which model OEM have you got? would it be sturdy enough?
