Greetings Peter,

You can match the Altair 'scope to your Nexstar by making a plate to replace the Telrad finder bracket with a mounting plate. You mount the OTA tube rings to this plate.

Please have a look at :

for some ideas. If one has the resources making a matching plate is quite straightforward.

Jeremy.

Just check out the ADM dovetail plates for 8" SCT scopes and saddles.

You could get a 8" SCT V-dovetail to mount on your SCT (https://www.admaccessories.com/product-category/v-series/v-series-dovetail-bar/) and a small V-saddle (https://www.admaccessories.com/product-category/v-series/v-dovetail-series-saddle/) to mount in place of the dovetail on your guiding scope, so you are able to slide it back-  and forwards to obtain balance.
You may also need a set of guider rings, for example:  https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adm-guide-rings.html.
You may want the 125 mm diameter  rings, so you will have room to adjust the 72mm guider (?) scope.

On the site of our sponsor you can find everything you need: https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adm-vixen-type-v-series.html
