ImPPG is well worth the effort to learn. Will make a hellava difference to your images. Just follow the tutorial until you get the hang of it.

Avoids rust thanks to the magical ImPGG overcoat..  :biggrin:

It's odd because the image shows up in ImPGG with a very spotty appearance from massive over-sharpening.

Perhaps I should start from a clean image which has not been pushed through Wavelets in Registax?

Yes,

ImPPG replaces all the Registax wavelets processing.......
