Wiu-Wiu
This must have been the best view I got from M82 - ever. The sketch doesn't even begin to capture it, I'm just not that good. The view was almost 3D-like, with the brighter patches popping out. Both ends also appeared to fan outward and become wider and fainter. Can anyone confirm this? I've never seen that on sketches of this galaxy.
mikeDnight
A first class, keen eyed observation and a superb sketch!
Lurcher
Sounds like a brilliant night. It's beautiful when objects appear so much more clearly than before. I know I had that a little while ago with M51. Well done. Brilliantly drawn too.
Stu
That is a fantastic sketch, must have been amazing with your scope under such lovely skies. Looking at images of M82 I cant see any fanning out at the ends, but that's not to say it's not there I guess.
