Clear Sky - So Many Choices on the Moon

Recommended Posts

Some times when I'm imaging the Moon I try to cover the entire visible face of it.

After 20 years of pursuing I'm convinced now that's not for me.

Tonight I was remotely moving my camera over the face of it, just focusing on what I wanted to see, and image.

That's the key isn't it, focusing in what you want to explore rather than ticking boxes.

Although those boxes DO need ticking LOL

Absolutely. I spent last night concentrating on the Apennine range just because it looked good the way it was lit. I had a look along the terminator but only imaged a few sections and really enjoyed it. Think I’ll try and pick targets based on how well they appear that night and not flit about all over as I have in the past. Over time I’ll still get most sections imaged but I’m really not bothered if I miss a bit.

That's a really good point - certain features do stand out well on different nights - I'll need to keep that in mind.

Here's my images from the 10th and 11th of April

Scope: Celestron C8 SCT

Camera: ASI120MC

Processing: Registax 6

Capture: Sharpcap
