April 11, 2019: Third solar lunch session in a row

Recommended Posts

I just managed to grab a look at the sun during lunch, before more solid cloud cover came in. The big AR is still going strong, trailing a huge area of plage behind it. The fainter proms on the western limb can still be seen, and a brighter one can be seen on the north-eastern limb. It looked a bit like a giant mushroom. Double stacking the SolarMax 60mm added quite a bit more contrast, but didn't reveal any smaller ARs unseen in single stack mode. I doubt I will be able to take any pictures today, but at least I got a good, if all too brief look
