TBH at the moment I just want to make sure that the EQ6 can handle the weight, if it's OK I'll buy a second set of rings and mount the refractor at lot further up the tube so the the two focusers are closer.

I figure if the mount can take it then why not? I've only got to carry the scopes a couple of meters......and it looks cool!

BTW Steve, try Scopestuff for rings for your Dob the 12" (that fit our Newts) are £40. You won't get much cheaper than that, even with postage.
