Schröter's Valley looking great tonight!

Just having some early glimpses through the cloud at the moment, and this area is nicely illuminated near the terminator so is well worth a look tonight. One of my favourite lunar targets.

I've only got a camcorder with 90x zoom left. I'll see if I can see it with that ??

One of my favourites as well Stu but the cloud is not playing ball here. Got the little scope ready to go in case of any gaps though.

I'm cloud dodging myself John, a few lovely views but seeing gets quite wobbly when the cloud comes through.

Might get one more clear patch before bath time ?

Getting some glimpses between clouds now. The Schroters Valley and environs are really brightly illuminated as you say. Very interesting area

Thanks chaps. Either the seeing has improved or the scope has cooled better because this one is a bit better. Still taken through cloud though so could get better if I have a clear patch.

Another good one tonight is Wargentin. The Y shaped ridge is well illuminated.

Last night and tonight I've also enjoyed observing the major domes Mons Gruithuisen (Gamma and Delta) and surrounding area. Stu's image shows them very well:
