Sun 18.03.19 Spot the spot!

Rusted

Recommended Posts

Struggling with cloud. It's raining through the dome slit as I type this! ?

Very small, complex spot in WL. Oval to egg shape with detail off to one side of the minor axis.
Pushed the power up to a still sharp 220x using Lacerta 2" prism and Baader SC filter on 7" f/12 R35.
Almost a tea drop dragging  a tail. Tadpole?

The dark filament is even more noticeable today.
Looks like a river running into a delta.

Update. The spot was only fully resolved at 300x. 15mm x 2 Barlow.
A nucleus with debris scattered along a tail.
Started seeing surface structure for the first time at 220x in WL.

Attempting to capture the spot with Neximage5.
Solid cloud and light showers!

Hi Peter

Suddenly everybody's an imager... ?

It's been a long and frustrating day waiting for clouds to go away.
Better after lunch. I managed 20 videos x 1000 frames on my Neximage5.
Captured at prime focus on my 7" f/12 in the Lacerta 2" prism.
Here's a quick fiddle with a random video in Registax 6.
The videos are like watching tadpoles struggling through frog spawn. :happy7:
I hope I'm not being too technical for you? :wink2:

BTW: Difficult to focus accurately enough without slow motion.
