Try my new stargazing web app: Star Atlas

Recommended Posts

Hi stargazers,

I'd like to show you my new free interactive stargazing map, called Star Atlas:

StarAtlas.com

It’s a fully interactive map of the night sky on the web. You can explore over 60,000 stars, find planets, watch solar eclipses, fast-forward time, and lots more. It works on mobile too – you can ‘add to homescreen’ to create an app, and it can use the compass to show the sky as you move your device about.

It's missing a few features right now (such as DSOs) but it's still very new and I hope to add many more features in the future. Please check it out – I'd love to know what you think.

Here are some example solar eclipses:

Enjoy!
Paul

Very nicely done indeed. Added to my home screen, thanks!

Do plan to add DSOs to the atlas?
