Solar Saturday

Cloudy and foggy much of the morning and then all of a sudden the clouds cleared and the Sun came out to play. Not spots in white light but a nice plage area in Ca-K and a decent filament in Ha too :happy72: Combine that with some small proms in Ca-K and it turned into a busy session.

Great images. Thank you for posting them.

Saturday I gave my 2nd hand LS60 first light. Basic tripod setup, visual only and not a lot of magnification. Sky not perfect.

I could not see any filaments, only a hint of granularity on the disc. Had I bought a duff scope? Or was it my slightly hazy sky? Or was the sun quiet?

I'm pleased to say that looking at your excellent images showing a quiet disc and filaments smaller than I would have seen at low magnification, I am encouraged and relieved.

Thanks, David.
