Free Lunar Software - Virtual Moon Atlas

Recommended Posts

I am sure this will have been posted about before but I have only just stumbled across it.  Truly brilliant piece of software and clearly made for the passion of the hobby.  Has photos, details and maps of every visible lunar feature and a very good planning tool to help tick off those lunar 100 objects (and most probably the 200 as well!).

Also has a notepad that allows you to make observation notes and this attaches per target.  Very handy to keep track of observations and thought over time.

Well worth checking out and available for Windows and Linux

It can also be used to drive a goto mount through ascom.

With enough accuracy to hit lunar targets? Will have to try it. Need to try controlling my mount from the pc in general really.

It always accompanies me when lunar observing. I find it adds so much to the enjoyment knowing what you're looking at. Also it has been a huge help in pursuit of the Lunar 100.
Good luck.
