Herschel on the terminator

I spent ages with my little guidebook trying to work out what I was looking at here. At first glance it reminded me of a 'Mott and Bailey' castle over in the top right.

So I took a photo to try and work out what is was in the cold light of day. Turns out it was Hershel near the N pole.  First time :-).

You would think it's easy to identify lunar features but it can be tough.

If I am not sure of a feature and can't work it out from maps I will look in the lunar imaging section for a photo from the same evening and that usually enables identification.
