Processing Jupiter Help!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have recently gone out to take a few frames of Jupiter, and as I don't have a barlow it comes quite small.

Whenever I go to stack it in Registax it has virtually no effect on the image. If any of you could help that'd be great!

I attached one of the frames, you can just make out the great spot if you zoom in slightly.

Thanks

Hi,

try PIPP at the start, - this software is able to crop each frame and sort by quality.

Cropped subs, - stack with Registrax, if fail, try Autostakertt (in my case, it does a better job).

For future,

not sure which camera you used, if it has an option, image planets with ROI enabled (Region of Interest - it means, you Crop the area during the record and get rid of the black empty area around, - it will enable you to collect much more frames per second and will make post processing much easier)

+1 (get it here)

You can try RGB align in Registax, to bring the channels back together

Looks good so far, done everything but the stack button in AS is not highlighted (clickable)

EDIT: Nevermind works now
