Hi. It's actually a f6 achromatic doublet. The f10 would be good for the forthcoming galaxy season. Not sure whether the exos will guide at that accuracy though and it only does ST4.

While you can use an ED80 on an EQ5 for visual, it's not an ideal setup. The aperture is limited and the EQ mount is heavy and needs at least rough polar alignment. If you went with the camera lens approach you would be reusing you current DSLR investment and would save some money that could go into a 6 inch or 8 inch dobsonian for visual.
