First Horse.....

Recommended Posts

My first Horsehead, although not close to most images,i have to say i am really excited to get this, around 1 hour lights, darks, flats and bias frames,a first for me using all of these, very basic processing in gimp, but the most importantly,i used a CLS filter which has made a big difference.

Much better than my first attempts Paul.

I prefer framing it with the camera rotated 90 degrees to yours.

That is very impressive for a first HH, Paul.

What you need now is more data (when doesn't one?)

That’s a great HH Paul, even more so with just an hour of data.

That's coming along nicely and as Adam says impressive with only an hour's worth of data.  Certainly makes you realise what a beast Alnitak is!

I should show you my favorite "not quite the Horsehead" shot -- dunno if I can get it posted from my phone. The batteries in the iOptron SkyTracker failed sometime during this exposure. "Warp factor seven, Mr. Sulu!"
