Observatory repairs and re-conditioning

Time for another break and a cuppa!  Finished screwing wood strip to the roof and started fitting gutter brackets and guttering.  Took some photos which I'll post later - camera is still out in observatory ready for more.  Cooling off now and the clouds are gathering ready for tonight!!

Screwed gutter brackets in position.  Next will be to nail the EPDM to the wooden strip and trim it, then attach the guttering.  Then there will be the down pipe to attach.  I might leave it for today and continue tomorrow.  Meanwhile a couple of photos of the wooden strip screwed to the roof and a couple of the guttering in position but not fixed.

Didn't realise your observatory had a chimney Gina!  This is for the warm room I presume ?

Been out working in the observatory, pulled the EPDM down and nailed it to the wooden strip.  Not very even but I'm not bothered.  Now having a break and a cuppa before continuing.  EPDM needs trimming more level so that none of it sits in water in the guttering.  Then put the guttering up and clipped in place followed by thinking about the down pipe.

EPDM trimmed and a couple more cloud nails hammered in where the EPDM looked like it wanted it.  Guttering fitted and clipped into place.

Been working on the down pipe system which is nearly finished but a "call of nature" brought me indoors so I decided to have a break and a cuppa and watch a bit of Flog It.  I'll take some photos when I go out next.  Still plenty of daylight left.

Some photos.  I have more but the light was too poor to get anything half decent.  I'll take more tomorrow.  I also want to extend the smaller brown down pipe further into the hopper.
