Here's an image from 4th Feb, I think I might have fiddled with colours a bit too much

There's a lot to like. My thoughts on the processing include the following:

- The black point is probably clipped. I'd be amazed if there were not more faint stuff present in your data.

- The higher brightnesses are tending towards green.

- Colour has been burned to white around the Trapezium.

This target is very, very difficult to process so I hope you don't feel I'm finding fault. I'm just trying to provide a few pointers.

This is a tricky blighter to process.  It looks like you've got some good data although more will be needed for the fainter surrounding nebulosity but, as Olly says, it's a bit clipped

Good start- as others have pointed out, the very brightness of M42 makes it it a difficult subject!
