Anyone have a Moonlite focuser w/ mini v2 on a 8 in. newt.

Recommended Posts

I got it before Thanksgiving and I use it with Sgp , I watched videos on youtube and now I'm reaching out after 8 frigid nights of failing to run a sequence using SGP. Can someone post there settings that they use , I'd like to compare them to mine to see if that's my issue . Help ?

      Hi,
Earlier I have made a calculator to find the telescopes depth of focus:
      http://www.astrofriend.eu/astronomy/astronomy-calculations/depth-of-focus/depth-of-focus.html
Now I have continued with a gear ratio calculator for the motor focuser:
      http://www.astrofriend.eu/astronomy/astronomy-calculations/focus-gearbox-ratio/focus-gearbox-ratio.html
Sometimes it could be tricky to find the correct gear ratio and maybe this could be of some help.
It's important to have the stepsize about 5 times smaller then the depth of focus.
      Note:
This is all new, I may have done some mistakes, check carefully before ordering any parts!
      /Lars
