Catching carbon.

Some really colourful red carbon stars around just now. I was lucky enough to get a gap in the clouds , very surprised at how bright and red UU Aurigae looked .

Some of these are greatly variable , reports of "Hind's crimson " ( aka "Vampire "star) for example ,depend on catching them bright. I've shown these as show stoppers from being a "wow !" to "where is it ?" IMG_6658.thumb.JPG.1486ce88633a4b7d25e22dc5132f872c.JPGSmall aperture helps in seeing colour as does ,
