Orion over the woods

Something seems to attract me to Orion and water and this one seems to be no different !

The sky was clear on New Year's day so I stopped by Derwent Water and walked down to High Brandelhow landing stage. A word of warning if anyone else should try this trick .... Don't move a muscle as the stage will move and cause double stars ?

Nikon D750, Sigma 14mm f1.8, 5 exposures of 25 seconds. ISO 800. Into Sequator stacking app to reduce the sky noise. 

Due to the fact I pointed the lens up, I decided I had to do a bit of perspective control to the lower half as the trees looked like they were about to fall into the Lake !! Once done it was a simple job of setting the colour balance, lifting the shadows and generally messing about.

Looks a lovely spot Dave, you've managed to control the wobbles well, I couldn't stay still for 25 seconds, certainly not several times!!
