M42 - first attempt at a 'serious' shot

A surprise clear night on Sunday, so I strapped my old Sony mirrorless onto the back of a Bresser 102s/600, prime focus and a 2xbarlow and fumbled about trying to find a focus (fortunately the half moon helped here)

Single 30s exposure, ISO 3200, no filters.
Just cropped it a bit. and boosted the contrast to remove some sky-glow from my 'orange sky' site in Surrey using the standard Windows picture editor on the JPEG file.

Well pleased with this.
