Red Speck Next to the Moon

I was just having a nice look at the moon in the dwindling light of dusk. I left the scope for a minute or two and when I came back there was a tiny orange-red speck in the middle of the viewfinder just off the edge of the Moon's dark rim which was just beginning to glow with earthshine. A quick look at Skysafari and there it was Nu Piscium, a red giant of 4th magnitude in Pisces.

A new one for me and a nice unexpected surprise!

Don't you just love it when things like that happen?
