Hi everyone

This was an interesting comparison. I used an old eBay Takumar 135mm and took these two snaps. Around 1 1/2 hours each last night; the same processing on each. What a difference a few degrees away from the milky way makes.

Technical problems: the reflections on bright stars. I think a clone or heal in GIMP is gonna be the only way to remove them. I don't think the kappa stacking thing worked because the reflections are always on the same part of the sensor. Otherwise I'm pleased with the lens.

Two very nice images you must be pleased with those.

I have the same lens, could you tell me how much you stepped the lens down.

I have used this lens wide open and got reasonable star shapes right to the frame edges.
