Asteroid Eros - Black Eye Galaxy

Recommended Posts

Asteroid Eros (second largest near earth object - diameter near 17 kilometers - so says wiki).  Think I may start dedicating time into looking for asteroids. Larger chip would be better, cover more space.  Didn't use it tonight but been playing around with free 30 day trial of Nikon camera control pro2. Bit spendy - works pretty well, can do interval shoots, adjust iso, exp, save images to card and or computer etc. plus live screen.  Would finally have a use for DSLR.

Viewed black eye galaxy as well. Cloud creeped in during imaging and a fussy electronic focuser. After wasting hour or two dismantled it and put old rubber sleeve back on sct focuser for now.  174mm-LP filter-HS-C11.  100x8s on galaxy, asteroid 9x8s over period of 30 min or so. Stacked in SharpCap, stretched in nebulocity. Bitterly painfully cold outside...Clear skies.

Hi MilwaukeeLion, great capture of Apollo asteroid Eros, just love it.  Black Eye Galaxy also good but I love Eros the best.  Well done!
