I took delivery of two more cases today, one very small which will house a small “lightweight” set of Plossls and Orthos... will sort that out later in the week and post a photo.

The big case I already have, now holds the set of Pentax XWs (30, 20, 14, 10, 7, 5 and 3.5) and a few other selected 1.25” eyepieces... Delos 14, Panoptic 24 and 15, ES 4.7 82, Baader Morpheus 17.5, Genuine Ortho 12.5, Classic Ortho 6, Hyperion 2.25x Barlow, ES Focal Extender 2” 2x and 1.25” 2x, plus a couple of filters.

Newly added today, is a medium size case, which holds just the “dob” set... Ethos (21, 13, 8, 6 and 3.7) and Paracorr II.

Seems the plan to have one set, has turned into three sets, but at least they are now better organised 🤣

You sure are a serious patient of this addiction ! I remember how you slowly grew into XWs then a APM 20mm then soon followed 4 Ethos !! ATB in your hobby .

Here's my updated collection, complete with new foam insert.

Hi All, For interest I’ve used this company for work and for my astro set up. Decent variety of sizes, fair quality at good prices and spare foam is readily available from them. I got through a f

Its many years since I posted my eyepiece case. I recently bought a Nagler 3-6mm zoom so I thought the photo should be updated.

From top left - 24mm ES68, 6mm Ethos, 17mm Celestron Ultima DUO, 20mm Myriad 100 degree

Middle far left -9mm Fujiyama Ortho, 10mm Baader Ortho, 6mm Baader Ortho. Middle far right - collection of filters UHC, O-III and H.Beta all marked for easy finding and access

Bottom left - Nagler 3-6mm zoom, 10mm Celestron Ultima DUO, 9mm Myriad 100 degree and 13mm Ethos.

Super set Mark. What caps have you at the bottom of the 2 Ethos? Looks like a 2” collar and no caps?

The caps are baader 28mms fine tuning extension rings. These are much cheaper than the TeleVue range.

I've got a similar lineup in my A-team case except that I don't have the Delos 6mm and 8mm eyepieces, or really anything in either focal length range aside from my 5-8mm SW zoom which has too little eye relief for me.  I've thought I might want something in those slots, but I find myself happily skipping from my 9mm Morpheus to my 7mm XW to my 5.2mm XL to my 3.5mm XW without feeling like I've jumped too much in any one step, except perhaps with the 3.5mm XW.

My question is, do you make much use of those those single digit Delos eyepieces?  Or do you prefer them and skip the XWs?  I'm thinking a 4.5mm Morpheus or Delos might get more use than either a 6mm or 8mm Delos.

For planetary observation I like to be able to adjust precisely to seeing conditions. I use parfocaliser rings on the Delos 6 and 8 mm eyepieces so they match the XWs. On my C8 at F/10, I like to have closely spaced EPs to fine tune the magnification to the seeing. I would love to insert a 9 mm between the XW10 and Delos 8, if truth be told. I certainly find the jump from 203x with the XW10 to 290x with the XW7 too much. The 254x offered by the Delos 8 very handy. Under good conditions I can even use the 6mm at 338x, especially on Mars and the Moon. The XW5 is more useful in my faster scopes.

I tend to use 1200mm and shorter focal length scopes.  I do have a 15" f/5 Dob that might make those closely spaced eyepieces useful, but I haven't used it in years since my back got messed up in an auto accident.

Finally got round to sorting out the other two cases...

Firstly a grab and go case (Plossls, Orthos, Barlow & diagonal) for quick short sessions and just keeping things simple😀

Then a small case to keep the binoviewer, Hyperion zooms, Meade 16mm pair, 1.6x Barlow and erecting prism, when not living on the Mak 127.

I'm weak Jeremy.  Couldn't help myself. Must resist the 12mm!!  😂

I’ve still retained the Morpheus 17.5 and sold my DeLite 18... both are excellent eyepieces, but for me I find the Morpheus just gives that extra FoV that I now love 😃

They’re superb eyepieces and that’s a lovely set 👍

Thank you HollyHound.  The large FOV is one of the things that appeals to me with the Morpheus range, along with the comfortable eye relief. The 17.5mm in particular is an amazing performer. I also highly rate the 9mm. A very crisp EP to view with and my main go to. The x167mag is a nice power to view at through the Dob.

I doubt I will ever have the privilege of looking through the other black & Green brand of EP! I bet they give some amazing clear views, expecially complemented with the parracor.

I got fancy a low power APM next. Not sure if they do anything in the 40mm focal range though.

Best not approach the wife about that just yet though. Only just taken possession of the 4.5 morph 😂😁

Great set you have there. I appreciate you have a pair of 18mm EP's for the binos but a 17.5mm Morph would still sit in you set beautifully 🙂 a fantastic low power wide FOV ep.

Seconded, the 17.5mm Morpheus has definitely had the most use of all my EPs since I bought it last year! I had a Meade 500 UWA 18mm which I really loved but the field lens went weird and the Morpheus was bought as a replacement. I love it even more than the 18mm UWA!

I'm actually in the process of building a travel kit using a TS Optics F6 70ED at the heart - I feel a new EP mini-case coming on!
Maybe a 2" GSO 30mm Superview for low power (although I'm not sure it will perform well at F6), the Morpheus 17mm for med/low and finally a 9mm Meade HD-60 maybe? A barlow to finish it off perhaps?

How timely... I finally got myself sorted with the ideal (for me) mini “grab and go” set of 1.25” eyepieces that work perfectly with both my Tak FC-76DCU and FS-60CB 😃

Meade 3000 40, TV Panoptic 24, TV Panoptic 15, Baader Genuine Ortho 12.5

Baader Hyperion x2.25 Barlow, Fujiyama Ortho 9, TV 3-6 Zoom

ES 4.7 82 (Late addition as this gives fantastic lunar views)

Moon Filter and small Red Led Torch

All this goes in a very small Geoptik case, which I can carry out in one hand with either Tak on the ScopeTech Zero and Report tripod combo in the other 👍

Very nice! Lovely compact set. I don't know much about the Meade 3000 Plössls. What's the view like with that 40mm in your FS60? I would guess that it's a bit more forgiving with its 50° FOV?
