Below the bright beacon of Venus were Jupiter and Mercury quite close together. I observed them with the Canon bins from centrally heated comfort. Jupiter obvious first with its clear disc and Mercury a little above and east. Interesting to imagine what I’m seeing - looking past the ‘close’ Mercury to Jupiter way out there.

it is amazing when you see them close together and think of the miles that separate them.

Thanks Kerry for the 'Heads up'. I went outside about 7am and watched the Moon slowly going down. I did view Venus and it was also good to see Leo, Virgo and Corvus but Jupiter and Mercury were behind the house so I could not see them.

Yes Kerry! - I love that idea that we are seeing the extent of the orbits of the inner planets juxtaposed against the vast sweep of Jupiter's.  Mind boggling

Glad you got a view Kerry, I've got up early two mornings running hoping to image them but only got clouds

I have observed Mercury, not managed Jupiter yet though.
