Maybe it was "much ado about nothing"

though not for the OP.

Regards  Andrew

In this winter’s tale, it was more a comedy of errors, but thankfully two gentlemen of Verona SGL helped in the taming of the Mesu. The tempest has passed and it is time for a Hamlet cigar...

I’ll get my coat...

Hi Gav,

I hope you have got the Mesu 200 behaving it's self.

I noticed in one of your posts yesterday that you had Equatorial Mount checked, I am wondering if this was a mis-type because the Mesu is a German Euatorial Mount. which gives you extra options.

Thanks Nigel. Yet to test it all properly... this weather...!

Equatorial Mode is a setting in the Auto Tracking tab of the SiTech Config app. I had it ticked and it was doing exactly as it should and starting to track at Sidereal rate in RA when the mount powered up. This is a neat feature for users of SiTech who don’t want to connect up a computer every time. That is not me! I have turned it off and it doesn’t track when I don’t want it to, thank you! German Equatorial Mount is true, but is not relevant to my issues this time.
