HEQ5 Pro

Hi all,

I was just wondering if it's possible to use the HEQ5 Pro without using go-to ? ie. if I aim my scope at an object manually if I know where it is in the sky? Reason I ask is because I haven't used my HEQ5 Pro's GOTO system yet, (havent used the mount yet for that matter) but I have it set up and clear skies are forecast tonight.

Sure you can, but it will not be 100% manual - you still need to use your hand controller to slew around.

Just select high speed - lookup in manual speed selection, and use hand controller buttons to move scope in RA and DEC - when you are done slewing close to target - select lower speed to center object in finder scope and then just select sidereal tracking speed and observe ...
