Celestron Sky Scout

Recommended Posts

David Hinds are selling (when it's due out 'early summer') what looks like a useful gadget - called a Sky Scout. It's a hand held digital scope that you point at a star, messier etc and it will identify the object. You can also ask it to find any object (6,000 object database) and it indicates where to point the scope by means of red arrows.

Here's the link

Precisely Gaz.

Radioactive - a Go To upgrade for my HEQ5 is not exactly cheap either! (although it does control the scope and has a greater database)

As usual the American Sky Scout is the same price in $$$ as the UK supply one is in £££!

I don't hanker after one, I'll continue to use my old Nortons Star Atlas and setting circles -

just thought the technology was interesting, that's all...... but, perhaps when the price comes down to less than £100....... ?
