November 30, 2018: Another quick morning view with the big bins

Recommended Posts

I spotted Venus above the trees behind our garden this morning, so hooked out the big Helios LightQuest 16x80 bins, and could clearly make out a little crescent. Smaller and fuller in phase than a week ago, it was nice to see one of our nearest neighbours in space. I then turned to an even nearer neighbour, the last quarter moon, which showed a wealth of detail along the terminator. On these bright objects, a little chromatic aberration is visible, but especially when you centre the object properly, it is really minimal. Every time I use these bins, the views completely bowl me over.
