I still have a CS2 which is fine but switched to the creative cloud version since it includes Lightroom.  I agree that £10 a month is good value for the package on offer especially if you are also daytime photographer shooting RAW.

I couldn't justify (or afford) the $$$$ PhotoShop.

Went for PaintShopPro a few years ago and have been very happy. Does 99% of PS at a fraction of the cost.

Hi Merlin66' Thanks for your time and reply.I never knew that you can use PaintshopPro with captures' of the night sky Thanks.Mark

I just use CS3 and love it. I very much enjoy deep sky image processing in Ps because it suits the way my brain works. (This may not be a good reflection on Photoshop though! :icon_mrgreen:)  I'm not aware of any significant upgrades so far as DS imaging goes.

I use PS 7.0, which I know is ancient, but works for me, & yes it goes work om Win 10, but takes a few tricks to install...

but I also have PSP Pro 11, PixInsight, Affinity Photo & a few other & will swap between them as needed.

I won't be getting any new PS version, so I've begun learning Darktable and GIMP.  Both are open source.

Darktable is amazing. It is a bit like Lightroom, but I suspect it can do a lot more. It does an excellent job on RAW files.

GIMP is more like Photoshop.

I used that for ages as well. Unlike most people I feel the 8 bit limitation to be an underwhelming disadvantage, quite honestly!
