Greg,

I agree totally with the "don't skimp on the mount", a lot of people do iand live to regret it.

But (you knew this was coming :laugh:) the 120mm on a EQ5 is no easier to setup than a 200mm Newt on a EQ5 and you also get the problem of low eyepiece height and false colour with long refractors.

As for collimation...its a storm in a teacup (as you listening Caz? :laugh:)

I can see where you're coming from gaz but I like the long refractors - I have the 200mm Newt and the 120mm refractor and I have to say the refractor gets used the most.

However I must confess that I do more imaging now than I did before...

If you go for the Newtonian or the a smaller refrator (120mm) - you won't go wrong.
