Planning my sketch targets.

There are not a lot of users from the UK, so this might be new to a lot of you. But I use Deepskylog to keep track of my observations and sketches, and they just released some new possibilities which look very handy:

When you register (it's free), you can add your location(s) and equipment. You can set your "standard" scope and location at any time, and then you can browse objects or observing lists.

I am trying to sketch all H400 objects, so I did a query for all H400 objects that I haven't sketched yet:

Deepskylog generates a list, in that list I set "November" for objects that are highest in this time of year, and then ordered them by "Contrast Reserve", based on my location and scope.

This generated a list of objects I'd have no trouble looking for, and makes it easy for me to go out and simply have more time to sketch:

Thats really useful - I actually registered last year when you suggested it but never really got to grips with it; I think I will have to revisit! I'm still playing with the idea of sketching using my tablet but havent really got my head round it yet!

Thanks, that looks interesting. I'm always looking for new things to do with my small refractor and have tried the odd sketch but i can't seem to get to grips with turning the sketch with a white background and black stars to the opposite.  I am useless with computers ☹️

I will check out this site though
