Thanks for sharing this Neil, I think the clouds are going to continue to spoil my efforts to image this

Sorry to hear that, John. I didn’t realise it was happening so was a great surprise for me

This was the first shot I got. Moon is way overexposed and cut off but Saturn stands out better than the first image I posted 7AA8FE99-63E2-4493-89E7-EF8F3A0A62B7.thumb.jpeg.fe38fff40388ed5176a4e1ba95a0e658.jpeg

Gorgeous--thank you.
So sad: Too much smoke to see stars and even the moon!
(sad for the people loosing their homes and lives)

Managed to get this one quickly with the 72mm at x18. Have over exposed the moon, but not too badly. Visually it was very nice, but could barely see Saturn's rings as the seeing was so bad down low.

I think the moon looks fine Stu. Nice image. What camera did you use?

This one was just with a Samsung S9 smartphone, handheld at the eyepiece.

A 72mm scope and a phone  - goes to show what can be achieved. Nice one.

Thanks :)

Can get better lunar shots too at higher power, I was limited to a 24mm eyepiece this time but can use other eyepieces now with my Celestron NeXYZ phone holder.
