M81/82 "new" first light

Recommended Posts

I have gone back to bare metal e.g. there was only a pier left after last winter's winds and other issues.Current setup:

  • Image train: C8 XLT, f6.3 focal reducer, Pegasus focus cube
  • Guiding: ASI120mm, StartTraveller 80, PHD2, Skywatcher focus motor
  • mount: AVX
  • sequencing etc. : SGPro 3.0.3

Friday/Saturday was spent setting up and aligning things. On Sunday I managed a run of 57 x 5 minutes @ISO800 exposures centered between M81/82.

During processing with Nebulosity (I used 42 of the images.) I stripped out RGB so LUM only, and with stretching I got this monstrosity.

Speaking of Nebulosity, has any one heard rumours of a new version?
