The Moon 24-10-18

Recommended Posts

I stacked 150 of 300 frames captured last night.

Pipp>AS!3>IMPPG

Mono image and some 100% crops, I'm doing a colour one at the moment but it looks like it'll take about a week to stack!

The RGB is the best of the lot IMHO.

but why?

Feel free to fire a broadside John, we'll still get along fine.

The first B/W series are so far over cropped/zoomed that all I see are 'speckled' Mare and overall 'fuzziness' in what could be acceptable pictures if only zoomed in to just before the 'point of pixelation'.

They are way over 'fuzzy' and the last one B/W is just a mix of white/grey.

I have the same problem.

Right now I have a stackable set from the other night, with the 7DII and 150-600S, I've tried various PPs and so far I have not got it right.

Normally your Moon shots are great, what gives?

Best, Rich

Your midships are safe! :)

What gives is I was playing with Topaz, won't be doing that again. I didn't with the RGB and the difference is obvious to see. Funny thing is, I thought the monos looked fine, but now with time and another pair of eyes I see the problem. Must have been tired, it was late. Oh and I did reduce the scale of the RGB a little as well but the main difference is the processing.

I might redo the mono without Topaz.
