An unusual moon...

While tinkering with my new 12" RC, setting it up, waiting for spacers to achieve back focus, I decided to take a picture of the moon...

Ok, I hear you say, that's nothing special.

Well, I took it on my phone pointing to this setup. You can even see the moon faintly amidst all the blitz light:

Anyways, I found it amusing. Incredible detail on the paper as you look at it.

This brings back memories of when I was a kid, 14 or so and I projected the moon onto a piece of paper using my 60mm Tasco refractor.....

That is really quite remarkable detail for an image taken in this way. I guess you won't be able to get a full disc when (if) you image the moon through that scope.
