Protecting the DEC motor connection

I'm sure some EQ5 / CG5 owners are familliar with this issue. The non-goto dec motors bolt onto a bracket close to the dovetail clamp. The connector for the motor sticks out in a rather vulnerable way, just asking to be knocked and snapped off moving the mount head around.

Has anyone found a simple DIY way to provide some protection for this connector ?. I've posted an image below to illustrate the issue.

I think you can take it off and reverse it so it sits against the motor.
