You will see some distortions and vignetting using this approach and the focus position will change quite a bit. Ultimately a 2" eyepiece is a better option to gaining a wider field of view IMHO.

You would be better looking to swap things around and go for something like a 2” 24mm 82’ EP in that scope. I have one made by Explore Scientific and it was a rich viewing experience with my 12” Dob. I don’t have the scope anymore but use the EP frequently in other scopes. I would have gone longer in fl but age and exit pupil dictated otherwise.

i have the Altair equivalent of the reducer you describe but its use is restricted to my Quark EP and my planetary cameras, situations where the vignetting is not an issue due to the small FOV.
