NGC 104 and 121

I had the chance to finish my image of NGC104 and the field of view also allows NGC121 to sneak into the frame.

NGC121 is located in the Small Magellanic Cloud, so two globulars in two galaxies.

I had to murder the data a bit as for some reason my flat frames have started over correcting so I processed it to hide the dust bunnies. Happy enough with the result.

You can use the size buttons on the bottom of the page if you wish a different size.

For interest and comparison, here are some specs for both objects, courtesy of Wkipedia (accuracy not verified)

                              NGC121                       NGC104

Constellation         Tucana                          Tucana

Distance                199 Kly                          13,000 +/- 1,100 ly

Magnitude               11.24                             4.09

Size                        175ly                              60ly

Age                          10 billion years              Not given

There are differing estimates for both of these, NGC 121 seems to have more consistent data, NGC104 seems to vary a bit in distances and a lot in size, from 60 to 150 ly.

Thanks for looking.
