London Planetarium to Close

FLO

Recommended Posts

The stars at one of central London's well-known tourist attractions will go dark for good this July.

Madame Tussauds waxworks, the owner of the London Planetarium, has decided to close the facility as the company shifts its focus from science education to entertainment. The planetarium (renamed the Auditorium) will soon replace its shows with programs about celebrities.

I've been there several times myself, and I think this is a blumming shame...

Thankfully they are building another one at Greenwich Park - not open till 2007 though

Very sad indeed!!!

This is really a national scandal. Yet again scince takes a back stage to commercial rubbish.

At least we have a great new planatarium here in Glasgow, at the Science Centre. Brand new equipment and auditorium. Fantastic
