SS60-DS Daystar solar telescope

Recommended Posts

Unlikely as they have only just been announced. They appear to be a 60mm F15 objective with a Quark for an eyepiece, the DS is in inverted commas so might mean similar to. Very good apparent price if you are in the USA, GBP prices seem to range from £750 to £980 depending on vendor. I hope they don't have the earlier Quark teething problems.   😃

It's hard to imagine the view would be as good as using a Quark with a larger aperture scope, unless it's more than just a Quark with a 60mm objective in a tube stuck in front of it.  We'll find out as soon as someone takes one apart .  If it is what Peter suggests it may be, as the price is more or less the same as a Quark bought in the UK,  I would rather have the Quark and use it in another telescope.

According to Daystar they're selling like hot cakes so maybe there'll be some reviews around soon, probably on CN or Solarchat.
