Bino mount question

I'm looking at the Orion parallelogram mount head, it states 80mm/3kg load capacity. Mine are 100mm/3.5kg. would additional counterweight work or would there be other issues?

I think stability might be an issue. The mount isn't likely to collapse with a 3.5 kg load, it is just that the extra weight (and magnification) that comes with bigger bins means that vibrations aren't damped out as quickly.

If you mean the Orion Paragon, I wouldn't. Even with 2.5kg on it, you can't balance it and have to tighten the fulcrum hand-knobs. I tried extra counterweight (lead flashing), and it was just horrible. IMO it's fine up to about 2kg.
